Lighter. Softer. Happier.
A new sport evolved from traditional volleyball, born in 1980s China. It's fun, easy to learn, and perfect for exercise and socialising — like karaoke or zumba, but on a sports court!
Why Light Volleyball?
Fun
Longer rallies, easier to learn, more laughter on court. The game is designed for enjoyment — not just competition.
Health
A full-body workout that's gentle on joints. Perfect for all ages — from students to active seniors.
Safer
Softer ball, lower net, and no hard spikes from the front court. Much lower injury risk — designed so you can play for years, not just seasons.
Social
Build friendships, join a club, play every week. Light Volleyball is a community sport at its core.
Two Ways to Play, Equally Exciting
Light Volleyball has two forms — weekly social sessions for wellness and friendship, and formal competitive tournaments.
Social Play
Weekly regular sessions
- · Fitness and friendship first
- · Pick-up teams, easy to join
- · Self-officiated, mutual respect
- · Wellness is the best reward
Competitive
Formal tournaments throughout the year
- · Compete for rankings and honours
- · Fixed teams, higher skill level
- · Professional referees, formal format
- · Trophies, prizes, media coverage
How to Join
The best way to discover Light Volleyball is to show up. Visit a local club, watch a game, talk to the organiser and players. Feel the energy, see the smiles. This is a community sport — it comes alive when you're part of a group, playing as a team, surrounded by people you're comfortable with. No video or article can replace that.
